Restaurant Review: Vega
It’s very easy and convenient to go to Vega, a modern and appealing Mexican restaurant for those who enjoy rich Mexican food.
Vega can be found at 187-189 East Hartsdale Avenue in Hartsdale. This restaurant is convenient for those getting on or off the train since its right next to the Hartsdale train station. Vega is a good restaurant for your family and you, or just going with friends. The good thing about Vega is its versatility – it can be a casual lunch place or it can be more elegant for dinner. Vega’s hours are Sunday-Thursday: 11:30 am – 10:30 pm and Friday-Saturday: 11:30 am- 11 pm. It usually depends on the day but reservations are usually necessary. If you need to make a reservation, the number to call is (914) 723-0010.
On a Friday or Saturday night, Vega is filled with a crowd of different people. Usually when you enter, the waitress takes you to your table and as you sit, a man walks around with a cart asking if you would like fresh-made guacamole. He makes it right in front of you, however you would like it. The guacamole is delicious, so rich and fresh. Salsa and warm tortilla chips are brought to your table as well.
The menu has a large selection for dinner, including seafood, quesadillas, burritos, salads, soups, and more. For lunch and brunch, there are options of different types of eggs made with steak, beans, and similar options as the dinner choices.
While you are waiting for your meal, there is usually Spanish music playing softly in the background, and numerous televisions are set up around the room. The televisions usually are not on, since most people enjoy the music playing in the background.
The restaurant is not too big; it has two separate rooms and a bar. The restaurant has a striking contemporary design, and has a pleasant atmosphere to dine in.
The restaurant has many good reviews by different sources. The New York Times said, “Real Mexican Cuisine, Right Down to Dessert.” New York Gourmet Food Examiner said, “New Mexican restaurant brings glitz and glam to Westchester.” Lohud.com said, “Restaurants we love: Vega in Hartsdale.”
The dishes at Vega are a good size, not to large, and the dishes cost between 7-24 dollars, which is not too pricey.
Vega is also celebrating their two-year anniversary, which is coming up very soon.
Vega has rich Mexican cuisine that appeals to many. Vega offers many different dishes. The vegetables and meat are very fresh, and the food is not too expensive. I strongly recommend going and trying Vega with your family and friends, I enjoy going there a lot.
