As the school year comes to a close, many SHS students, such as the one pictured below, are preparing for finals and cleaning up the work they have accumulated over the past months. Maroon wishes everyone good luck with their tests and a great summer!

A fire alarm went off today around 12:25 PM, interrupting 5th period classes. Students evacuated and were let back in at around 12:45 PM after firemen investigated. The league championship track meet began May 1st, 2012 at Mount Vernon and ended May 2nd, 2012 at New Rochelle. Seen below is part of the steeple chase, a 2000m event with four barriers and one water jump per lap. Eric Dobosh won the Boys Steeple Chase and Christina Hebner won the Girls Steeple Chase.
April 23 was Rent A Senior Day. Younger students “rented” Seniors for five dollars each, bestowing those students with rights to “boss [the seniors] around, forcing them to pick up food and coffee, serve it, carry backpacks and escort students to class, and other ridiculous things. The annual carnival at Scarsdale High School took place on Friday, April 20th and Saturday, April 21st. The event included numerous rides, student-run booths, and prize-winning games. Maroon was there to capture all the fun moments. (Photos Becky Schwartz).
Today’s photo of the day showcases a sculpture of a human head crafted by skilled ceramist, Mayra DeGouveia ’13, which she created in her Sculpture II class taught by Mrs. DeAngelis.
